About the Artist

I am a gal living in northern Minnesota (for now) who has a ceramic practice in a backyard that is hemmed in by tall trees. I have been working with clay for about four years now. I continue to grow and fall more in love with clay as a medium. Diving into raw clay and geology has been a new fascination for me as well. The immersive process of shaping clay was what initially drew me into ceramics.

Human hands have been shaping clay for millennia. Carrying on this craft through my own practice of decorative and functional ceramics is a great gift. My pieces are meant to serve as reminders of Beauty, the natural friendship of the earth, and the simplicity of daily life.

The nature of light and the earthy origins of clay are what inspire my pieces. I mean for the process to be etched into each of my pieces. If you pay attention and let your eyes and hands be drawn into a dialogue with my ceramics, my prayer is that you begin asking why the glaze ripples and pools the way it does, how the curve of the vase came to be, and what caused the little explosions of color.
